Phyllis Trafton — Mental Health and Life Development coach
Mental Health · Life Development Coach

If your life looks great on paper but feels like crap in real life, we need to talk.

You're invited into a coaching practice rooted in biblical instruction — one conversation at a time, paced by a framework that has been carried through a season of recovery and faith.

Her role at a glance

Her role as a Mental Health/Life Development Coach

Mental Health/Life Development coaching empowers clients to envision life without depression or other obstacles that impede on their emotional well-being. It is a niche within the coaching field which touches on therapy, but it does not work with or attempt to treat mental illness. A good coach can help their clients see the world in a new way, turn pessimism into optimism, and think with a glass-half-full attitude instead of a glass-half-empty attitude.

One hour, $75, with a 2-hour monthly minimum. Pay as you go or in advance — or message first.

Her coaching philosophy

Her coaching philosophy

The main function of a health coach is to empower clients to cultivate a healthier lifestyle from a standpoint of how God sees them. My foundation is from the Word of God! Examples of specific duties may include: Assessing a client's current health condition; Developing health goals for a client; Providing counseling services; Documenting a client's progress; and Conducting behavioral health screenings.

The coaching method, as a practice

Four steps that carry a coaching season forward.

Recognize, Refer, Relate, Restore — the sequence the coaching practice moves through with each client, paced by the workbook and the daily teaching blog.

  1. 01
    Recognize

    Evaluate and assess

Name what is actually happening — the season, the obstacle, the emotional weight.

  2. 02
    Refer

Establish a starting point for care

Place the work on a foundation — biblical instruction, cohort, recovery community.

  3. 03
    Relate

Create meaningful connections and break stigma

Step into honest conversation with someone who has walked this season before.

  4. 04
    Restore

Provide direction and support — sanctification

Move forward in disciplined hope. Optimism as a practiced posture, day by day.
